Mike Winward attends Plenary of the CDLPA

From Nov. 13 to 15, Mike Winward attended the Plenary of the County and District Law Presidents’ Association (CDLPA) as the representative for Ontario’s central south region.The Plenary included in depth discussions and presentations on some key issues facing the legal profession.

These topics included:the increase in self represented litigants before the courts in Ontario, challenges faced by the real estate bar, continued funding for law libraries, especially at the local and county levels and the emerging push towards lawyers working in alternative business structures as is the current trend in other common law jurisdictions including Australia, England and Wales.What is clear is that with the massive explosion of e-technology and the expanding global economy, the practice of law is heading for some fundamental changes.
